Comic Geek Speak Super Show 2010
Friday, March 26, 2010

I’m happy to announce that I’ll be helping set up and then attending Comic Geek Speak’s Super Show on March 27 to 28 at the Greater Reading Convention Center. I’ll be hanging out with The Legion of Dudes Podcast and tabling with Shawn Pryor and PKD Media. I’ll have information about the podcast as well as promotional material for my two books, Folks and Positive Disintegration. Stop by the table and chat us up! Check it out »

On Saturday March 27 at 10:30AM to 11:30AM in the convention hall, I’ll be on the Comics in the Classroom panel. “Join our resident Edu-geek experts to discuss the hows and whys of using comics in the classroom, and get advice on how to broach the subject with administrators, select appropriate material and integrate comics into the curriculum. See real world examples of how comics are being utilized in the classrooms of America.” This panel will feature an introduction by author Joe Sergi and will be moderated by educator Dan Ryder of the Wicked Decent Learning Podcast. I’ll be a panel guest alongside educators Scott Cole, James Pannafino, and Rob Ruddell.

On Sunday March 28 at 12:00PM to 1:00PM in the convention hall, I’ll be on the Great Morrison Debate panel. This panel discussion will focus on whether or not author Grant Morrison’s controversial run on Marvel Comics’ New X-Men is a modern classic or best left forgotten. “Come watch the sparks fly as the Legion of Dudes debates the merits of Grant Morrison's New X-Men live! Join in and add your two cents as we focus on one of the most polarizing figures in comics. Hosted and moderated by Adam Umak, with Russell representing the anti-Morrison side and Jim on the pro-Morrison side. Audience participation is greatly encouraged.” Co-host Ken will be running technical support with fellow podcaster Ziggo.
